Happy frightful Friday! Rounding out this week of original haunted house announcements, we have another lined up for Halloween Horror Nights 35 at Universal Studios Florida! Universal shared on social media:
Just Announced: INVASION: Alien Abduction
Make contact with horrors from worlds unknown in this haunted house, where a ship full of Grays have torn apart a remote homestead in search of fresh test subjects.
Surprisingly, aliens are a sparsely used concept for the event, particularly when it comes to non-IP representation. While they have successfully done massive and fan-favorite heavy hitters franchises like “Alien vs Predator” (HHN 24) and “John Carpenter’s The Thing” (HHN 17 & 21), some of the most beloved interpretations of our space friends at the event come from more silly, original B-movie style concepts like “Creatures!” (HHN 18) and the namesake for this upcoming house, “Invasion!”, a campy take on 50’s Sci-Fi films (HHN 27).
But, this year’s house won’t be campy. Rotem Rusak of Nerdist had an exclusive interview with Universal Show Director, Charles Grey, who shared more about the house. Rusak writes:
These aren’t your campy, comedy aliens. Oh no. True horror is coming to Halloween Horror Nights in the form INVASION: Alien Abduction House. And that’s complete with tentacles, claws, home invasion, claustrophbia, a vibrating floor, and an incredible amount of delicious chaos.

INVASION: Alien Abduction is the latest addition for this year’s 35th anniversary lineup at Universal Studios Florida, alongside Cybergoria, MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals, H.R. Bloodengutz, Stranger Things, Sinners and Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow’s return. An additional three houses, plus all of the scare zones and entertainment will be revealed in the coming weeks.
