Universal Planning 4,000 Hotel Rooms on Wet ‘n Wild Property

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Universal has filed a master-plan with the City of Orlando that shows the now-closed Wet n’ Wild land will be used for hotel rooms. The document shows areas marked off as “HOTEL” on both sides of Universal Boulevard with three parking structures located throughout the property.

This news is not surprising, and basically anyone who follows Universal Orlando news assumed that this land would be used for more hotel rooms. The rumors vary, but many speculate that the technically off-site hotel(s) will be value priced, and could also contain some type of shopping/dining district – like a miniature CityWalk.

As of now, Universal Orlando has declined to comment further on these plans. Universal’s sixth hotel, Aventura, is currently under construction, and the expansion of Cabana Bay Beach Resort should be finished in the near future.
