Universal Announces DreamWorks Land for Universal Studios Florida

Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone has been a construction pit since it closed earlier this year. DreamWorks Animation characters have been plastered on the construction walls pointing toward the future theme of the area. Universal has officially announced that a new DreamWorks Animation Land will open at Universal Studios Florida in 2024.

The land will be filled with vibrant colors, sights, and sounds. Characters like Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse will appear. Interactive play spaces and attractions from franchises like Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda. Shrek has been left without a home since the closure of Shrek 4-D for Minion Land.

The new land is part of a collection of new entertainment experiences debuting at Universal Orlando Resort in 2024. It is also a continuation of Universal’s commitment to rich storytelling that places guests of all ages in the most incredible and immersive environments. Universal revealed earlier this year it was planning a kid-friendly park in Texas that appears to utilize DreamWorks characters from the concept art.

Universal Orlando Resort has been criticized for years for lacking entertainment offerings that are unique and relevant to younger kids. The resort heavily focused on teens and young adults and a shift towards families with younger kids will make the resort more appealing.

There are more details to be revealed in the future about the DreamWorks land in 2024 as well as the other new entertainment experiences debuting at the resort.
