Universal has officially announced another haunted house, bringing the latest chapter of one of horror’s most enduring franchises to this year’s event. Evil Dead Burn, based on New Line Cinema’s film currently in theaters of the same name, will debut at Universal Studios Florida beginning August 28 and Universal Studios Hollywood starting September 3.
The announcement marks the return of the Evil Dead franchise to Halloween Horror Nights, giving guests the chance to step inside the terrifying world of Deadites once again.

Originally released in 1981, The Evil Dead began as an independent horror film before growing into one of the genre’s most recognizable franchises. Known for blending graphic horror with moments of dark comedy, the series revolves around the Necromonicon, the Book of the Dead, an ancient tome capable of unleashing demonic forces that possess and transform their victims into terrifying Deadites.

This year’s haunted house draws inspiration from the franchise’s newest film, Evil Dead Burn. Here’s Universal’s announcement video:
“Inspired by the franchise’s latest installment, Evil Dead Burn, the haunted houses will take guests on a terrifying firsthand journey through the film’s most frightening moments that begin at the Price family’s secluded vacation home in the woods. The nightmare grows more and more fierce as guests venture through the haunted house, encountering ferocious Deadites around every turn before succumbing to the evil forces themselves.”
Universal also revealed a new line of limited-release Evil Dead Burn merchandise celebrating the announcement. The initial collection includes a themed T-shirt, matching hat, and an acrylic collectible figure designed to fit this year’s Infernal Carnival display series. The merchandise arrives at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood on July 21, followed by an online release at shopUniversal.com beginning July 22 at 9 AM PT, with additional merchandise released later this year.
